  1. Cayuga Lake Watershed Intermunicipal Org (CWIO) – Town representative
    • DESCRIPTION:
      • CWIO is an intermunicipal organization dedicated to fostering cooperation for projecting, monitoring and restoring Cayuga Lake’s water quality. More information at cwio.org
    • TIME COMMITMENT:
      • Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of alternating months (6 per year: 3 remotely during the winter months, and 3 in-person during the warmer months).
    • MEETING LOCATION:
      • These in-person meetings are held in locations throughout the watershed.
  2. Town of Ulysses BZA – alternates (2)
    • DESCRIPTION
      • The Board of Zoning Appeals primarily hears and decides on appeals from decisions made by zoning enforcement officials, granting use and area variances, and interpreting zoning laws, ensuring fair and equitable application of zoning regulations.
    • TIME COMMITMENT
      • Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month when there is business before the board. Alternate positions are appointed annually to 1-year terms. Annual stipend of $215 for 2026.
    • MEETING LOCATION
      • In-person at Town Hall 
  3. Town of Ulysses Planning Board – member (1), alternates (2)
    • DESCRIPTION
      • Planning boards are local, appointed bodies responsible for guiding community development through land use regulation and long-term planning, acting under state statute and local laws. Their core duties include reviewing subdivision plans, site plans, and special use permits, conducting public hearings, and implementing the community’s Comprehensive Plan.
    • TIME COMMITMENT
      • Regular members are appointed 5-year terms; alternates are appointed annually to 1-year terms. Annual stipend of $215 for 2026.
      • Meetings take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month.
    • MEETING LOCATIONS
      • In-person at Town Hall 
  4. Town Historian
    • DESCRIPTION
      • A Town Historian in New York is a public officer appointed to collect, preserve, and interpret local history. Responsibilities include researching town history, managing local records, acting as a historical resource for the community, aiding in historic preservation, and submitting annual reports. 
    • TIME COMMITMENT
      • The time commitment is estimated to be about 2 hours/week; depending on projects. The position is appointed annually, with a stipend of $1800.
  5. Town of Ulysses Youth Commission – Town representative (1)
  • DESCRIPTION
    • The Youth Commission is a partnership with the Village of Trumansburg and the Trumansburg Central School District, created to advise on recreation and youth services managed by the Town of Ulysses.
  • TIME COMMITMENT
    • Meetings take place on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7pm. Appointments are for one year.

    • In-person at Town Hall; periodically remote
